Who we are
Relay is a desktop app that migrates data between databases and checks the result. It is published by Bastien Cochet, reachable at bastien.cochet.pro@gmail.com. Relay is open source: its code is published under the Apache License 2.0, which governs how you may use, copy and change it. These terms apply to the Relay app, its updates and this website. By creating an account or using the app, you accept them.
Your account and your team
You sign in with a Google or Microsoft account. Each account belongs to one or more teams, which hold members, roles, connections and migrations. You keep your sign-in secure, and the owners and admins of a team are responsible for who they invite and for what members do in it.
Your data
The rows and values of your databases stay on your computer or your network: the Relay engine runs locally and never sends them to us. You remain the owner of your data and responsible for having the right to read, move and transform it.
Relay suggests mappings and reports discrepancies, but applies nothing a person has not validated, and offers a dry run before writing to a target. You decide what to accept and when to write. Keep backups of your databases before a migration.
Acceptable use
Do not use Relay to access databases you are not allowed to use, to break the law, or to harm the service or other users.
Availability and liability
We work to keep Relay reliable and correct, but the app is provided free of charge and as is, without a guarantee that it fits every use or runs without interruption, as the Apache License 2.0 also states. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from its use, such as lost data, profit or business.
Suspension and termination
You can stop using Relay and delete your account at any time. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms, after telling you why whenever possible.
Changes
We may update these terms. We will tell you in the app or by email before an important change takes effect. If you keep using Relay afterwards, the new terms apply.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by French law. Before any legal action, write to us so we can look for an agreement. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the law of your country of residence, and you can use a consumer mediator.
